William Sorrells is an innovative pen-and-ink artist who, using his background in advertising design and illustration, has been perfecting his own style for the past twenty years. Sorrells sums up his style best: "The basis of my work is 'photorealism,' an art form movement created in the '60s and a technique which allows me to recreate my material with vivid detail and accuracy. I highlight my work with a method called stippling, which is central in everything I do. By stippling thousands of tiny dots, I create a mixture of light and shadow which takes on a three-dimensional look and adds life and realism to my drawings." Email William Sorrells Studios |
